Weatherization

After efficiency, the next step is to weatherize the envelope of your home. Groton Utility’s attic insulation rebate is up to $2 (R-38) or $2.50 (R-49) per Square Foot with a maximum of $5000 for single family residences and a maximum of $2000 for apartments and condominiums.

What is a heat pump

Heat Pumps

The final step is to consider installing heat pumps. Heat pumps are the most efficient heating and cooling systems on the market. For some homeowners, a heat pump may provide significant savings while also making the indoor environment more comfortable.

Homeowners that currently use electric resistance heating are certain to see reduced electricity costs. Homes that are heated with oil are also potentially good candidates. Learn more about heat pumps here and about incentives at PACECleanEnergy.org.

Groton Utilities offers a rebate for air source mini split heat pumps up to $5,000 per compressor. Maximum of $100,000 per customer.
