A Message from the First Selectman
In 2021 our Clean Energy Committee introduced HeatSmart, a home energy efficiency program. Almost 500 Branford residents signed up for Home Energy Solutions (HES) home evaluations, heat pumps, or solar panels. HeatSmart returned in 2023. With rising energy costs, this will be a very good year to conserve energy, save money, and help achieve our Branford energy goals.
I recommend all Branford residents consider HeatSmart. This program is available to all residents, and it supports those who are experiencing financial challenges. Our partner contractors, New England Smart Energy Group and Home Comfort Practice, will contribute $25 to the East Haven Food Pantry for each completed HES evaluation, and Income Eligible residents, in addition to a no-cost energy service, receive enhanced incentives from Energize ConnecticutSM for energy-saving measures.
