The City of Middletown is becoming HeatSmart. Through this outreach and education program, Middletown residents learn about Energize Connecticut programs that provide incentives and rebates for home energy efficiency improvements. The program is available to homeowners and renters. Depending on income, some residents may be eligible for no-cost home upgrades such as insulation.
Did you know that an inefficient refrigerator or freezer can cost up to $125 a year to run? If it is time to upgrade to a more energy efficient model, schedule an appointment with Eversource’s free recycling pick up program. Appliances must be in working order. You may even qualify for a $50 rebate! https://www.eversource.com/
Over 30% of the energy consumed in the state is used to heat and cool buildings. Leaky, drafty homes waste energy and cost more money. Participating in the energy audit is a great way to evaluate where a home can be more energy efficient, and therefore, lower residents’ energy bills, and make homes more comfortable. Helping our residents minimize expenses couldn’t have come at a better time.
